AI Needs AIwareness

For years I loved creating with AI. It unleashed my creativity, sped up my work and opened doors I didn't even know were there. And still, somewhere underneath all that excitement, the sheer speed of it made me shiver more than once.

For a long time I pushed that feeling away. Then I read the AI 2027 report, and something shifted.

Down The AI Rabbit Hole

If you haven't come across it: AI 2027 is a scenario from the AI Futures Project, a month-by-month story of how AI could develop over the next few years. It isn't a prediction and it doesn't claim to be one. It's a structured "what if" that takes today's trajectory seriously and follows it to the end.

Reading it sent me down the rabbit hole of AI Safety and Alignment, into everything that feels off about where this is heading right now. The part that stayed with me wasn't the doom. It was something quieter: how far public awareness is lagging behind what these systems can already do. Most of us are using the tools every day and barely talking about where they're taking us.

From Anxiety to Agency

I realised that worrying on its own changes nothing. At some point I realised I had two options. Keep doom-scrolling the latest capability news and feel small. Or do something with it.

So I decided to reclaim my agency. Two things came out of that decision.

A sense-making evening

JJ Vega, Johanna and I are hosting a free evening at the Cocreation Loft in Berlin. No hype, no doom, no expert panel telling you what to think. Just space to slow down, think together and ask the big questions about AI and our place in it.

It's built as three parts: a bit of input to get us on the same page, a hands-on piece, and a sense-making circle where we make sense of it together. Come as you are: curious, excited, concerned, sceptical and everything in between. You'll walk away knowing a little better where you actually stand.

AIwareness

For a while I'd been sitting on a brand and a domain I really believe in: AIwareness. It pulls together everything I feel about AI right now, the wonder and the worry in the same place.

So I taught myself vibe coding and built the site you're reading this on. It will hold the resources, experiments and ideas to come. And I love the dark, vibrant design it turned into.

This is a beginning, not a finished thing. So have a look around and tell me what you think. The honest feedback is part of the point.

An invitation

I don't have the answers here, and I'm sceptical of anyone in this space who claims they do. What I do have is the conviction that paying attention together beats worrying alone.

Reclaiming agency starts with awareness. If that resonates, come to the evening on June 30th, or just start the conversation wherever you are.

See you there.
